Ol Chorro Group Ranch 

There is now a public camp site located near the Rhino Boma. Although it’s a public camp site you need to check in with the rangers at the rhino boma. Limited water and firewood is available. Call the Senor Administrator, Mr. Marc Goss, on mobile (+254) (0) 734-912800

Oloololo Game Ranch & Ol Kokwa

 Camping is not permitted, unless by prior arrangement. Please contact George Orr of Earthview Management if you are interested

Public Campsites

The Triangle has two public campsites ( Oloololo Gate and headquarters Mara Serena) which require no prior booking. There are no facilities provided except at the Oloololo Public camp site where there are showers and toilets. Bathing water can be sourced at Oloololo Gate and Mara Serena Conservancy Headquarters. Firewood is no longer provided but can be purchased at Oloololo Gate and at the Serena Head Quarters. In addition to regular park entry fees there are camping fees delineated in the Fees section.

Private Campsites

There are 9 “special Campsites” which may be booked and reserved for a weekly fee of Ksh 7,500 plus there is a refundable deposit of Ksh 2,500  required payable at the time of the special booking payment. The deposit is refunded through Earthview`s Nairobi office after you leave and is used to cover any extra days camping and to ensure the site is left clean. If the camp is found not to be clean the funds are used to have it cleaned.

Bookings are handled by the Mara Conservancy. Their contacts are 050 22919 and 020 3749632. Please ensure you give them your full name and telephone contact.  Earthview are responsible for receiving the payment for the Special Booking Fee. Our office contact is 020 4450373. Upon submission of the contact form you will receive an automated response via email advising that your request has been received.

The Mara Conservancy will confirm via email whether the campsite is available for the client. Earthview receive a copy of the confirmation also. From this time we allow seven days to make  payment in full to Earthview otherwise the booking is removed.

Payment needs to be made though Earthview. You can come into our Nairobi office at Westlands , Soin Plaza , mezzanine floor ; mail the cheque to us or pay through MPESA adding Ksh 200 for processing to our number 0721 - 3441838

All cheque payments for camping need be in favour of Mara Conservancy.

Upon receiving payment for the campsite Earthview will contact Mara Conservancy to confirm that the campsite is booked and we will update our Campsite Booking schedule on this website.

Please note that a camp site is only confirmed once payment of the special booking fee has bee received in the Earthview Nairobi office and a receipt has been given.

Campers in private campsites are expected to leave by 10:30 AM to allow for the next group unless they have express permission from the Conservancy booking office.

1. Dirisha Camp | View Bookings
This camp is suitable for those concerned about a sharp drop into the river. It has a long and narrow access often blocked with elephant. It has a wide vista onto plains over the river.

2. Kiboko Camp | View Bookings
This camp is situated about 5 Kms north of Mara south bridge and extremely close to  major crossing points. Access is easy and it can easily accomodate 8 large tents.

3. Maji Ya Ndege | View Bookings
This camp like all the camp sites is situated under large trees . It has easy access which can be difficult during heavy rains.

4. Ndovu Camp | View Bookings
This camp is  suitable for a smaller number of tents – say 5 – as the space on the river is quite tight. There is a steep drop off to a sizable hippo pool right below and is situated on a sharp river bend.

5. Nolmaiman (BBC Camp) | View Bookings

This site is not on the river - it is about 9 Km from South Bridge to Conservancy Headquarters then to the west of the road about 1 ½ Km. It is in a woodland on a lugga which usually has water in it. The site is not too big and very well hidden.

 Nolmaiman is the Masai word for  monitor lizard

6. Olarro (Nyati camp) | View Bookings
Situated about 9 Km north of the South Mara bridge on the river which is narrow and fast running. The site has a steep bank to the river and is not too large. There is a small marsh adjacent and it is close to major crossing points.

7. Olkeju Rongai | View Bookings

Olkeju Rongai Camp site  is Situated about 11 Km north of the Mara South Bridge on the river and less than a Km off the main road heading north to Conservancy Headquarters. It`s name means " narrow stream" as it`s where the Olkeju Rongai stream flows into the Mara River from the Narok side. The site is large and on a bend which has a lot of game coming down on the other side of the river. The bank is steep.

8. Olkeri Camp | View Bookings
This camp is the first site south of the Serena Lodge hill situated at the junction of where the Talek River flows into the the Mara River. This site is quite isolated.

9. River Camp | View Bookings

This camp is quite remote and can be problematic to access during very wet conditions, as you need to cross an ox bow. The bank is sharp into a sweeping bend on the river.
